Community engagement begins with being present, listening and creating opportunities for people to connect. Family Ties NM brings individuals, families, organizations and community partners together through welcoming, accessible experiences designed around the needs and interests of the communities we serve.

Our community engagement activities can take many forms—from resource fairs, book and school supply giveaways, and take-home learning kits for school breaks to outdoor activities, health and wellness programs, family events, adult learning workshops and community listening sessions.

Sometimes engagement means connecting a family with a resource they need. Sometimes it means creating a fun reason for neighbors to come together. And sometimes it simply means creating a space where people can share what is working, what is needed and what they want to see in their community.

We believe strong communities are built through relationships, participation and listening. That's why our work isn't about deciding what a community needs before we arrive. We listen first, build partnerships and create opportunities with the people we serve.
